Jake Rucker has been diagnosed with colon cancer and has moved back to Gainesville, FL with his wonderful partner Alsion de Maintenon. Jake is strong, young, positive and ready to try all forms of healing and treatment. With our love and support he is going to have a vibrant and complete recovery.
Jake has completed 16 rounds of chemotherapy and is currently enjoying a break from traditional treatment methods. For the next month or so Jake will be building his strength and loving some much needed rest and relaxation. After which time, he will be embarking on a new phase of treatment. At the suggestion of his oncologist and after a consultation with a surgeon, he is scheduled to undergo the first of a series of radiation bead therapy aka SirTek treatments. First on the larger lobe of the liver; then six weeks after the other. The treatments maybe repeated if it is determined to be beneficial.
